Why Camera Module Lines Need Dedicated Spot Curing

Camera module assembly has become a thermal balancing exercise. Lens barrels, VCM actuators and image sensors are bonded with UV adhesives that cure in seconds, but the assemblies themselves tolerate very little heat. A mercury spot lamp delivers the energy but also delivers infrared load, which shifts focus and stresses the adhesive interface. Each head uses a cold mirror and quartz lens assembly, so the visible and infrared load that reaches the part stays low even during continuous operation. Because the heads are air cooled rather than water cooled, the system needs no chiller, no coolant lines and no additional floor space on the line.
